Moving Beyond Personal Crisis to Service

There is no need to wait for life to be perfect to live with purpose. We don’t have to wait until the problems are all solved before we take up our personal authority and start doing the work we came to the planet to do. If we lift our thoughts beyond personal issues and begin noticing the world around us, we will see that there is much work to be done—satisfying work that can bring joy and fulfillment to our souls. Problems will no longer take center stage, but give way to our strengths, our gifts, our capacity for compassion, and our ideas. We will remember where we have succeeded and how we have survived, and then we will share our stories with others. We will see fit to share our time, resources, and energies with someone else. We will be able to put our hands to the collective work that is being done. Life will always bring challenges, but they do not need to overshadow our faith, our compassion, our mission, or our strengths.

If we spend most of our time, energy, and resources on reacting to crisis, we have little left over to take care of ourselves and to minister to our sisters and brothers. If our attention is focused on wrestling with problems, we may forget what it means to be proactive; to think, move, and act on and with purpose instead of simply reacting to what is going on around us. During challenging times we may forget our connection to the people and the world around us. The illusion of separateness keeps us in a holding pattern of living from crisis to crisis; unable to rescue ourselves from isolation so that no one can come in to help us. We can ask for help knowing that there is another way.

To move beyond crisis is to shift our ways of thinking and being from reactive to proactive mode; to positively create, influence, shape, and help transform. It means to live on purpose and with purpose; to decide who we are being and what we are doing. Even more so, it is about living creatively—envisioning what kind of world we want to live in and what kind of life we’d like to have and then bringing that world and that life into reality. How? By utilizing the tools of manifestation and attraction at our disposal: affirmations, symbols, imagination, and inspired action. When we make the decision to step outside of old default settings and habits that no longer serve us, LIFE has a way of adjusting itself to match our stance and affirm our choices.

Affirmations:
The universe is always working to accommodate me.
I provide valuable self-transcending service to the world.
