If you can hold on for the entire day, you get to keep whatever is left at the end of this 24 hour period. When you look squarely in the face of all that has challenged you and still find strength and faith to stand, then you know that you have earned the right to keep what you’ve fought so hard to maintain all these years. No one can challenge the creativity and heart you’ve put into this life. You’ve earned the right to keep it; to live it. Of course, you are. Who has had more experience being you and living your life; dealing with your quirks, hang-ups, issues, and problems? Dance your way through whatever challenges there are. It will all take care of itself in the end.

You prepare for Kali’s appearance like you prepare for any inclement weather. When the meteorologist announces that cyclones have been spotted in the area, you tie your stuff down and find someplace safe to wait it out. Well, cyclones have definitely been spotted. That means that anything that is not tied down in your life with care and prayer may be dislodged. Anything that is not actively contributing to your well-being is liable to be removed. With the strong spiritual fibers of prayers, tie down what you want to keep because Kali Ma is cleaning house. Sometimes we want to maintain what’s been holding us back from our true purpose. When this is the case, Kali will take it anyway. But what she leaves in her wake is way better: Freedom from self-limiting beliefs, faulty premises, and energy-consuming distractions. Be willing to embrace what your life’s been not-so-silently praying for all along your liberation.
